In today’s lesson we are going to introduce the idea of writing essay in order to compare two different maps.

In order to write a good essay, it is important that you have some useful vocabulary. Click on the link below and review the vocabulary that can be used to describe change and position in a map

Vocabulary Based Task:
Using keynote chose ten words from the links above to create a presentation explaining the vocabulary that has been introduced. Make sure each slide in your presentation does the following
- The word being looked at
- A picture
- A definition of the word
- A sample sentence

Let’s have a look at the maps below:
In groups discuss the following questions:
- What has been added to the map?
- What has been removed from the map?
- What has been replaced on the map?
- What has been extended or increased?
- What is the biggest change that you can see on the map?
