What did I learn?

This term is about to come to an end and it is important that we look back at what we have been studying.  Over the next couple of days I would like you all to work in groups of four or three and create an iMovie presentation looking at the different things that you have you  learnt over the last semester. Please remember to be as creative as you can and that you include all the different things that we have covered  Once you have completed your iMovie send the completed presentation to the following email address: philipgelwell@gmail.com

After writing your essay remember to review through the check list below to ensure that you have met all the criteria

Check List:  

  • Do you have 3 paragraphs an introduction body and conclusion
  • Does your introduction have a general statement
  • Does your introduction have thesis statement
  • Does introduction statement how many stages the process has
  • Does your body paragraph state what the process is
  • Do you use sequence words
  • Do you use imperatives
  • Are there connectors (and, while, which)
  • Have you mentioned all the main stages
  • In your Conclusion do you summarize the results of the process

End of Term Exams Preparation

Students…. I know your all probably enjoying your holidays but for those of you who are interested in preparing for your final exam for this semester here is a heads-up on what to expect during the exam

Reading 

There will be two reading passages during the exam. The first reading passage will be typical IELTS  reading with questions focusing on matching headings to paragraphs; completing a summary; T/F/NG; and short answer. The second reading passage will be taken from your Literature Advancement class (so if you have time try to look through some of the readings so that your ready for the exams. 

Listening: 

There is also a listening component to the exam please remember that the listenings are IELTS focused which means that they will be pretty fast, so get yourself ready and don’t day dream !!! Try to use available time to read through the listening questions so that you can listen intelligently.

Writing: 

As I have mentioned before writing will be an advantage/disadvantage essay. It is important that you write a four paragraph essay and that you use the following lay out to write your essay:
