Today we will be learning a new type of essay called a change over time essay……
A “change over time essay” consists of the following structure:
Introduction:
Which is made up of three sentences
- General statement about the topic
- What is your opinion about the topic (Do you think there has been any changes)
- Thesis Statement (what is your essay going to do)
Body Paragraph 1:
One reason why/why not this change has taken place
3/2 examples why this change has taken place
Body Paragraph 2:
- Second reason why/why not this change has taken place
- 3/2 examples why this change has taken place
Conclusion
- Concluding statement
- Re-state the opinion you gave in the introduction
- Summarise reasons mentioned in the body
Today’s Task:
Use the structure above to write a change over time essay. Use the your mind maps that you created on Thursday during class to give you ideas. Once you have completed your essay use the check list to review through your completed tasks then get your friend to review through your essay to make sure that you have written the best essay.
